Arduino Drone

Project Summary

My project began with the first question of “how could I make a gesture-controlled drone?” I thought this would be an interesting project because I always love to play with drones as a kid and I thought building just a drone would be easy, which it wasn’t, so I had to add another aspect to it which would be gesture controls. While I’ve never done anything as extreme as this, I do have previous experience in robotics and technology so I thought it was right up my alley. There were a lot of ups and downs along the way. I ran into problems with almost every aspect of it which I did not expect and made me very frustrated. I learned that it’s ok to walk away and take a break when weren’t going my way, and coming back later usually allows me to be more focused and calm. In the end, I only ended up with a drone, due to parts that weren’t available for purchase but I think the drone itself took a lot of work on its own. If I could continue I’d definitely want to finish the gesture controller.
