B String

For my march madness, I created a documentary about guitars, the history of guitars, and the interesting culture of inspiration surrounding guitars. It is an instrument that has inspired people like no other, brings people together, creates a community, and has the power to be a lifelong interest. I interviewed a guitar maker and a guitar collector, both of which were extremely fascinated by guitars but for different reasons. There is something about a guitar that draws people in and keeps them on a hook. It can be a frustrating instrument to learn, but every guitarist’s story that I’ve looked into contained a point where they put their guitar down, maybe even more than once, yet always came back to it. In this documentary, I explore deeper into the history of this culture and show first-hand stories of how strong the grip of the guitar truly is.
