Building a Guitar Amplifier

Posted on May 26, 2020 by Taiga Davis Leave a Comment on Building a Guitar Amplifier

Project Summary

For my March Madness project, I built a guitar amplifier in order to combine two of my lifelong interests: music, and circuitry. A guitar amplifier is an important component to the sound of many great guitarists and is often overlooked as a tool that only highlights a guitar. However, a guitar amplifier carries an extremely large influence over the sound and gives a person the ability to exert their influence on the sound they want to create. To build an amplifier I learned how to solder and how to comprehend the schematics and workings of a guitar amplifier. For my amplifier, I built a 5f1 Fender champion kit, one of the first amps designed by Fender and a perfect kit for beginners like me. By building a guitar amplifier I gained a new way to influence my music and newfound confidence in electric circuitry.
