Cognitive Learning in Relation to Learning Guitar

Posted on May 27, 2020 by carolina_lansing Leave a Comment on Cognitive Learning in Relation to Learning Guitar

Project Summary

The goal of my project was to relearn guitar and specifically learn the song Blackbird by The Beatles. I chose to learn Blackbird because that song has always been one very important to me and I wanted to incorporate it, not only because of my connection with it but because of the way it is written on the guitar. I wanted to also track and reflect on my process of learning, to compare to what it was like learning guitar when I was younger. The comparative of my experience was to be able to study the cognitive learning when playing instruments. I aimed to mostly self-teach the song to myself while shaking help at the very end from my old guitar teacher and another teacher at a different institution for some contrast.
