Project Summary
For my March Madness, I wrote a song called “Divine Intervention” and recorded a draft of the song which I can later build upon. I’ve always known I wanted to write music for my project however the task was more difficult than I anticipated. I had never tried to write my own songs and I was presented with many challenges however I am very pleased with the song I have written. I decided I wanted to focus on quality over quantity with this project and focus on making music and writing lyrics that have an emotional impact.I’m looking forward to moving forward with the recording of this song and adding more and more layers. As of now, the file attached is just me singing along to piano. Hope you enjoy!
The melody, your voice and your lyrics stirred my spirit. You set out to move people with music and you accomplished that with me. So very impressed with how you are growing with your vocal and musical craft!
Lyrics:
You had those diamond blue eyes and a pitch
black soul
took me by surprise I would’ve never known
it was the devil in disguise in front of me
we were the captains of our own sinking ship
but on you, I would never quit
Cause to me you were a god and you had my devotion
Our collision course
to new age
You and me
We’re holy
The golden hour’s
upon us
the dawn of
tomorrow
It took divine intervention to pull us apart
Our beautiful disaster we forged from the start
it was gonna be you and me until the very end
of time
I blame divine intervention for losing what
was mine
Some people say love is blind that must be true
because all this time I had no clue
in your heart, there wasn’t room for two
We set the world on fire and watched it burn
then you looked at me and said it was my turn
maybe that was when I learned that we were on
A collision course
to new age
You and me
unholy
The darkest hour’s
Upon us
the dawn of
tomorrow
It took divine intervention to pull us apart
Our beautiful disaster we forged from the start
it was gonna be you and me until the very end
of time
I blame divine intervention for losing what
was mine
Baby we were born (forged) of fire
raging far from the water
Ruining all that we touched
in our flames, i saw the colors
Forgot the burns on my fingers
Maybe the stories were true high pitched depending
It took divine intervention to pull us apart
Our beautiful disaster we forged from the start
it was gonna be you and me until the very end of time
I blame divine intervention for losing what was mine
it took divine intervention to finally cut the ties
