Project Summary
For my project, I decided to research the impacts that meat has on the environment. I have always heard that meat is not the best for the world, but I never knew the actual impacts it caused. So for my March Madness, I am researching specifically the process of farming and how the production of meat specifically is bad for the environment. I am also researching the differences between plant-based meat and regular meat. Farming is a huge occupation all over the world and takes up a lot of space and materials provided by nature which can be both a good thing and a bad thing. I wanted to see the statistics about farming and about the greenhouse gas release that comes from it. I am also trying out being pescetarian, vegetarian, and vegan and documenting the changes I notice in how I feel so that I can see how these lifestyles affect my general health. For my final project, I composed a newspaper article with all of the research I have gathered over time. While my newspaper article is only 2 pages, it contains a lot of information covering these four topics: Farming, The Issues that are being caused by the meat industry and what they do to the world, Plant-based meat vs Regular meat, and trying out different lifestyles.
