How Coding Can Affect My Life
I decided on my project as I always admired coders and wanted to learn how to code. When I heard we were doing march madness this year I couldn’t resist and decided to make my paper around coding. I decided my project would be “how can coding affect my life”. For this project I decided I would make a timer to help me with my day to day life. I knew this was going to be a lot of work especially with me starting with no experience. At first I started to practice Python on various websites. This took months for me to get an extremely basic understanding of it. However after time I started expanding my knowledge and was able to create my first line of code. This line of code did not work. However over time with a lot of research and a lot of persistence and time I was able to get it to work. My goals changed after the amount of time I spent on the first line of code. I knew I would need at least a year to finish the timer with a popup box, a minute counter and sound. Tha made me change my goals and decided that I would go for a minimalist timer with a shorter amount of code so I could finish before the end of the year. I continued working on my timer as weeks went by and it started to finally shape out. Although it is very very simple it works amazingly. If I had more time I could add sound however that would take at least a month and sadly March Madness is due by friday. Overall this project was very challenging. Lots and lots of hours studying python mostly go unnoticed and what is shown is about twenty lines of code that dont look very good however when put together make a simple but practical timer.
