Hello, my name is Kaia Cogsville, and for my March Madness project, I have created portraits of women overshadowed by men throughout history. Each portrait differs from one another both in subject, and in media. This project has required research about each woman and her accomplishments, art lessons, practice, and of course creating a portrait of her using a medium I feel fits her best such as collage, drawing, painting, etc. There are many examples of how women can easily be overshadowed by men whether it is at home, in the workplace, etc. I want to help bring light to some of these women, and not only educate myself about them, but others as well.
