The Importance of Holocaust Education

Posted on May 27, 2020 by Rena Nakum Leave a Comment on The Importance of Holocaust Education

Project Summary

The Holocaust was one of the most horrifying events in modern history. However, many people do not know the scale of the genocide that occurred. This is due to the fact that there is a lack of education about the Holocaust in our current school systems. This year, survivors celebrated 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz, one of the most infamous death camps. Now more than ever, it is necessary to ask ourselves two important questions: How could a civilized society let something like the Holocaust happen? And, why do we not teach about this historical event when it is not only a Jewish issue but a global one?
