Project Summary
“The Voice of the Silenced” embellishes the female narrative in response to the objectification Americans compel. It explores the Presidency of Donald Trump with regards to his 26 allegations of sexual misconduct and discloses 6 stories of Sexual Violence. The film features 6 victims of sexual violence, who anonymously share their stories. These women, who I deeply love and cherish, have been my motivators. They are survivors, yet they are victims. Victims of the internalized rape culture. The #MeToo movement created by the iconic Tarana Burke has allowed millions of women to come forward and share their stories in an attempt to destabilize the normalization of sexual violence. The #MeToo movement gained prominence after over 250 powerful Americans; celebrities, politicians, CEOs; were subjected to sexual violence allegations. The movements and the recognition of sexual violence created a mass uprising amongst both women and men throughout the country. I look forward to the conversations this film sparks amongst our high school community.
